For more information about plasmas and plasma science you may want to read the 1995 National Research Council Report "Plasma Science: From Fundamental Research to Technological Applications." That report provides guidance regarding the many ways in which plasma science can contribute to society and recommends actions that will optimize these contributions. The report also expresses concern regarding the health of plasma science in the United States and challenges the plasma science community to work for increased "plasma literacy."
